Morning Message Time
Every day the children help me create a message about the school day. During message time, I can reach all levels of students. Some children are saying the letters in the words. Some children are reading sight words and other children are reading bigger words or spelling words from memory. Each day four or five children get to share part of the message to the class. The child might read "Dear Class or Love, Mrs. Madrid". Other children are reading a sentence or the entire message to the class. I stress writing concepts as I write the message. For example, I start a sentence with a capital letter or I end a sentence with a period. At the end of message time, the class reads the message together. Check out these great readers in room 19!
