Leadership Binders

Your child is bringing his/her Leadership Binder home today.  Sometime this weekend have your child share the binder with you.  Your child should share the mission statement with you, the goal setting section and the 7 Habits books your child made.  We practice how we should share our binder with our family.  I hope you enjoy listening to your child share what he/she knows and what skills he/she is working on.  Please return the binders on Monday.

Literacy Stations

Today was our first day at literacy stations.  Mrs. Nikodem and I met with our reading groups today and talked about the important work we will do together.  Some groups will begin working in books tomorrow and some will do letter work.

Writer's Workshop

Today we practice doing some more writing on our stories.  The children practiced saying a word "slowly" and writing the sounds they hear in the word.  Here are two children who drew pictures and used words in their stories.

Class Mission Statement

The children helped create a mission statement.  They had some great ideas.  Enjoy!

Mystery Reader and Color Mixing

Mrs.  Moehlmann read a story called The Pout Pout Fish to the class.  The children loved to guess who the reader was by playing hangman before she came to the classroom.  If you want to be a mystery reader, email me a Friday date.  You will bring a book and read from 1:50-2:05.

Here is our writer club's name and cheer.  We will do the cheer before we start our independent writing time.
