5 Little Pumpkins

Today we learned the rhyme "5 Little Pumpkins".  We made an art project to go with the rhyme.  The projects will look great in the hall.

True Stories in Writer's Workshop

We have been working on true stories in writer's workshop.  The children are doing a really good job picking one small moment that has happened in his/her life and drawing and writing words to tell that story.  Here are two friends telling their true stories.

Buddy Pumpkins

We did a following directions activity with our buddies.  The children enjoyed decorating our pumpkins.    Our buddy pumpkin patch will be hanging in the hall.

Writer's Workshop Celebration

We just finished our teaching book part of writer's workshop.  To celebrate, the children shared their books with a small group of other children.  Each child was excited to read his/her own book to others.

Hangman

Sometimes we play hangman to help us learn our popcorn words.  You can also play this game at home to help your child learn the popcorn words.

Blue Ribbon

Concord is one of seven schools in the state of Missouri to earn a blue ribbon award.  These schools display a high level of student achievement.  It was an exciting day at Concord.  The kids will tell you why.

Letter Party

We had a busy day celebrating the alphabet.  We listened to some fun alphabet books, searched for missing letters in our room and put them in abc order, found letters in our room and wrote them down on a chart, read our alphabet books the children made, watched The Letter Factory during rest time and sorted Alpha-Bits cereal by letter.  Your child can keep his/her alphabet book at home and share it with friends and family.
