We read stories about Groundhog's Day. We learned some facts about groundhogs. The children loved seeing and touching a real stuffed groundhog that belonged to Mr. Madrid's father. Here are some pictures of the children with Phil.

The 100th Day!
We had a fun day celebrating the 100th day of school! We made a necklace with 100 Fruit Loops; we did a dot-to-dot to 100; we read many books about the 100th day of school; we learned a 100th day song and we did 100 exercises. Here are some pictures of the great shirts and posters that came in today!

Writing Assessment
Each quarter, the children draw a picture and write about a topic. I shared the first quarter writing with you at conferences. Every child's writing has improved, since first quarter. In the video, you will see three student's writing in first quarter and second quarter. It is amazing to see the progress. Your children are becoming great writers!

Rascal went to PA
Rascal came back from Saegertown, Pennsylvania where he visited Gavin's Gramma and Papap. Gavin's Gramma gave bears for each student and Gavin's Papap made cute Rascal magnets with each child's name on the magnet. The children loved both items! Thank you to Gavin's Gramma and Papap!
