About 6 friends were brave and started working on a story by themselves.  The rest of the class started another book about recess.

Each day we change the beginning letter and sing this silly song.  Playing with sounds helps children's reading progress.

Small Moment Stories

We just finished our first small moment story about our trip to the pumpkin patch.  Tomorrow children can choose to write one more story with me or try one on their own.

Major's mom came and read the book "Frosty Friends and the Candy Cane Race".  She gave us a special treat for all the helping hands items we brought it.  We had over 180 items!  Thank you for your generosity!

Assembly

We had a lot of fun at the Fredbird assembly.  Sully answered some questions and won a hat.

This is a snap word game we play from time to time.  You could play at home too.  All you need is a working flashlight :)

Clap a Friend's Name

Being able to clap beats (syllables) helps in reading and sound spelling.  We have been singing this song with every one's name in our class.

What Can Dots Make

Today we read the book "10 Black Dots" by Donald Crews.  Each child made a picture with black dots and sound spelled what the picture is.

Friendship Feast

Josie's grandma read "Mrs. Nelson is Missing" and "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey".  We loved both books!

Painting on the Easel

Today we starting painting the trunk and branches of a tree.  When everyone has a turn doing this, we will paint Fall leaves on the tree.
