We made blender applesauce today.   Some children loved it and others not so much.

Patterns, Patterns Everywhere

In math, we have been working on making patterns and labeling our patterns using A B, etc.  Check out this great pattern.

Apple Taste Testing and Reading

We tried Red Delicious, Golden Delicious and Granny Smith apples.  Each child told the class his/her favorite.  We practiced touch reading our sentence, making sure what we say matches the word we are pointing to.

Apple Investigation

Today we were apple scientist and looked closely at their apples.

New Snap Words

Today we read the book "The Farm Concert."  We found the word "the" on every page of the book.  We have great snap word hunters.

I can't wait to see everyone's talents tomorrow.  It does not have to be anything fancy or complicated.

Here is how to play the game "Snap" with the snap words.  You can also play hangman with the snap words.  If your child can read the snap words easily, you have have your child spell the words or write the snap words in sentences.

Popcorn Party and Mystery Reader

We had an exciting afternoon.  We used our sense of hearing, then smelling, next seeing, then touching and finally tasting the popcorn.  We made a book to remember the senses we used when we popped popcorn.

Mason's mom came to read the book "A Good Day for a Hat."  The bear owned a lot of hats!  You can ask your child which hat was his/ her favorite.

Pop, Pop, Pop

Our names song goes along with the 5 senses.  By tomorrow, we will have sung this song for every child in our class.

Meeting Our 3rd Grade Buddy

Mrs. Shaughnessy's class is our buddy class.  We met our buddies and drew things we were good at.

Sorting

Today we started sorting.  We did the easiest sorting today.  We will learn how to sort by shape, size, number and type.

We did some yummy Cool Whip coloring mixing with the primary colors.

Mystery Reader

Max's grandma read "5 Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree".  It was a fun book.  Ask your child if the monkeys will tease the crocodile ever again.  She read today so she could travel safely tomorrow back home to Orlando.
