We have been reading Mrs. Wishy-Washy this week.  We acted out the story, found big and little words and found words we can read.  Check out these great readers.

Special Mystery Reader

Dr. Moehlmann came to read the book "Owen" by Kevin Henkes.  Ask your child what Owen's mom did to fuzzy (his blankie) so Owen could take it to school.

Mystery Readers

Mason's grandparents came from Topeka, Kansas to read us a book called "This Book Just Ate My Dog".  It was a funny book.  His grandparents gave our classroom the book, so we can read it in our "book nook".  

If you, a relative or a friend would like to be a mystery reader, email me a date.  We do it on Fridays at 2:00.  We can always make a special arrangement if this day and time doesn't work for you.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

We read the book and made our own coconut tree to get ready for letters.

Who Took the Cookie?

We are working hard to learn each other's names.  We started singing this song today.  We will finish the rest of the names tomorrow and do a cookie project.

Rule #1 and Rule #2

We have learned the first two rules of kindergarten.  We have two more to learn.

Solar Eclipse

We did many activities about the solar eclipse.  The children did a great job using their special glasses.  It was an amazing light show!  Thank you to all the parents who came to help.  Thank you to Mrs. Becker who made the special plates.  I couldn't have done it without all the help!

Gingerbread Hunt

We tried to find the gingerbread man in our school.  He went to all the important places we need to know like the nurse, office, etc.  He was so fast we didn't see him but he left his picture at each place.  He also left extra pictures to decorate.  We will hang them in our room.

Learning Names

We had a great first day!  We sang this song for each friend in our class.
