Applesauce

The children helped make applesauce by using a plastic knife to cut the apple slices into small pieces to mix in the blender.  Just add a little water while blending.  Put in a cup and sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar.  Most of the children liked it.

Elsa's Great Aunt came to read A Box for Katje.  It was a wonderful story of friendship.

Journal Writing

We wrote an "I can" sentence in our journal.  We all wrote "I can" together as a class working on proper handwriting and spacing between words.  Some children stayed in the group to finish the sentence together and other children wrote an idea by themselves using sound spelling.

We read the book "Class Picture Day" by Andrea Buckless.  Ask your child why all the children are sticking out their tongues in these pictures.  It follows what happens at the end of the story.

Logan's Birthday

Birthdays are special at Concord.  Logan wants everyone to wear some red or pink tomorrow to celebrate his birthday.  I told the class each child will do this on his/her birthday.  If the birthday falls on a weekend, we will celebrate either Friday or Monday.  If the birthday fall on a holiday, we will do it before or after.  If the birthday is in the summer, we will celebrate sometime in May.
