Popcorn Words Hangman
Since it was too cold to go outside for recess this morning, the children partnered up and played popcorn words hangman. The children were having a good time and practicing important reading and writing skills!

Rascal Came Back From Arizona
Our Rascal came back from Arizona today. We learned he had a great time, but was almost eaten by a new puppy. We learned that it is dry and warm all year round. Rascal had fun sitting by the pool. Doesn't that sound nice!

How-To Books

Journal Writing
The children wrote in their journals this morning. There writing is so much easier to read, since the Fall. The children are doing well putting spaces between their words and writing many sounds when sound spelling. We are still practicing starting each sentence with a capital letter and ending each idea with a period, question mark or exclamation point.

Writing Celebration
We finished our second unit in writer's workshop. We celebrated by reading to our buddies. The buddies wrote a nice note on the back of the books. We ended our celebration with several toasts.

Rascal Went To Virginia
Rascal brought back lucky pigs from Virginia. We also learned George Washington along with 7 other presidents were born in Virginia.
