Snap Words

In writer's workshop, we learned that the more words we can read and write quickly the easier writing can be.  Here are some friends reading a word they know like a snap.

Star Leader of the Week

Each week a child is the star leader of the week.  The child shares his/her poster.  The class interviews the star to get to know him/her better.  Then the class makes a book for the star.  Here a a few children reading their papers about our star last week.

Rascal went Overseas

We saw pictures and learned that Rascal visited five cities overseas.  Three in Europe and two in Asia.  Rascal also brought back a surprise.  The children loved it!

Having fun in the Snow

By reading the children's journals, I can tell most of them had lots of fun in the snow.  Check out a few children reading their journals.

We read two books that showed examples of the habit think win-win.  The children drew a picture and wrote how they can show win-win.

Rascal in Nebraska

Rascal came back and we learned some places to see in Lincoln, Nebraska.  We learned that college football is big there and you can visit the roller skating museum there.
