Here Comes Letter of the Day!

We started our alphabet activities this week.  For each letter we read a poem, talk about how the letter is made, talk about the sound it makes, brainstorm words that begin with the letter and do two hands-on activities with the letter.  The children really like to read the letter poems and search for the letter of the day in the poem.

Getting to Know You

Today we read the story and sang the song "Who Took the Cookie From the Cookie Jar".  Each child got to hold a paper cookie and the class sang to him/her.  This is helping us learn the friends' names in class.  After we sang to each child, each child made a paper cookie.  On the back of the paper cookie are the words from the song.
